    Rickrolled in RL

Tigerlili is watching the Macy’s Parade. It’s it’s usual admixture of blatant marketing, almost magic and banality. The Foster’s Home for Imaginary Children float appeared. So lovely and nice, then all of a sudden out of it popped…

    RICK ASTLEY!

SINGING NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!

    OMG RICKROLLED IN RL!

    USA Baby formula tainted

“The FDA found melamine and cyanuric acid, a related chemical, in samples of baby formula made by Major U.S. manufacturers. Melamine can cause kidney and bladder stones and, in worst cases, kidney failure and death. If melamine and cyanuric acid combine, they can form round yellow crystals that can also damage kidneys and destroy renal function.

Melamine was found in Good Start Supreme Infant Formula With Iron made by Nestle, and cyanuric acid was detected in Enfamil Lipil With Iron infant formula powder made by Mead Johnson. A spokesman for Nestle did not respond to repeated calls and e-mails for comment yesterday.”

    Full Story here

Other news about Nestle having to pull contaminated milk in South Africa here

At some point the formula pushers will have to clean up their act. Over a thousand Chinese infants are still receiving treatment in hospital for kidney damage caused by tainted milk. A total of 50,741 were taken ill in that country because of contamination to formula, and several deaths.

Encourage women to breastfeed. This is about what is best for babies. I have had people say negative and ignorant things to me about breastfeeding. For the sake of our children, we all need to become more educated, less uptight and more protective about teaching women what their bodies can really do.

In order to have a successful breastfeeding relationship in this silicone pushing, female hating society, women need to be re-taught confidence in their ability to feed their children, without the Formula Industry actively interfering and undermining them. (I regularly get sent full size canisters of formula even though I never asked for them, and have asked to be removed from their ‘lists’ which I was put on without my permission when I bought maternity clothes at a US Maternity store who do not deserve a plug here)

Don’t blindly trust Government Agencies, whatever country you live in. They are often shown to be fallable in their regulation of the Food and Pharma industries. The Formula Industry, no matter what their claims to the contrary in their marketing material, do not have your babies best interests at heart. It’s Big Business. Big Business is greedy. Big Business cuts corners. Their industrial practices have been shown time and time again to be open to abuse.

If you are expecting a baby please educate yourself. Educate your Partner so they can support you 100 percent, educate the rest of your family and your friends. A lot of younger women I talk to know nothing about breastfeeding. Who is teaching them to be so ignorant?

Be prepared for a lot of bad advice from people who know nothing about breastfeeding, or people who had their experience interfered with by others. Make sure YOU are your own expert. Don’t just listen to what whoever says happened to a friend of a friend. Your experience is yours alone.

Attend La Leche League meetings in your town before your baby is born.

Read everything about breastfeeding you can get your hands on. Make sure you have a good lactation consultant or LLL Leader to help you get off to a good start. Don’t panic if your milk doesn’t come in for the first few days… look I could write a book about it right here, right now at 4am this morning, but it’s up to you to do the rest. That includes you too, Chaps! That’s right, encourage your women to get their tits out! Tits out for them babies!

    Old Ladies on the Plane

On my way out to San Francisco last week, two 90-year-old looking ladies had this exchange as we were taking our seats.

1st Old Lady (to Her Son): She won’t get out of the way. Look at her standing there.
2nd Old Lady: I’m sorry I’m doing this as quickly as I can.
1st Old Lady: (says nothing, glares)
2nd Old Lady: I have a cane you know.

    Happy USA Thanksgiving Everyone!

I’ve been traveling all across the USA in that last week. It’s a big place huh? Not as big as Canada, still, it’s pretty big.

Remember to be nice and not get in a fight when you go shopping on Black Friday. that would be shameful.

    What is world coming to?

Bruce Springsteen covering Suicide? Is this the End Times? Or are we on the mend?

The first Suicide LP and Nebraska by Springsteen are pretty much my favourite records EVER. So maybe things ARE on the mend.

What would you call THIS thing?

I know it’s a teddy bear sort of centaur, but looking at this picture broke the part of my brain that likes to make up words for indescribable things and feelings. Any thoughts?

Its from Steiff Japan BTW if you want one. Which you shouldn’t.

    Hey Kids!

For about the same price as the Rock Band Bundle you can buy a real guitar. A pretty good guitar at that.

    I’m just saying.

I know it’s more work. At the end of the day though you’ll have a friend for life. Plus you can’t impress girls with being good at rock band. YOU REALLY CAN’T. You know what else, if you are already grown up it’s not too late to start.

My boyfriend asks this, isn’t it cooler to really know how to play the thing? Kids today, bah!

Yes it is much cooler! And about the same amount of effort!
