I wrote this sentence in an email today:
Apologies for the tardy reply.
I thought maybe my meaning would be misconstrued but just left it.

Adam Cavill : I understand that the commerce of transport is complicated. I understand that fuel prices are at an all time high. I also understand that taking public transport should be cheaper and easier than owning a car.
