“The Los Angeles City Council officially declared May 25, 2007 Star Wars Day in the city, in an official proclamation signed by Councilwoman Jan Perry. To further recognize the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, and the significance of the galaxy far, far away in the City of Angles, Perry and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa are scheduled to appear in the gala Opening Ceremonies at Star Wars Celebration IV, Friday night, May 25.”
