yay Visa

Just got my Visa sorted after a lot of unnecessary nonsense from the old law firm that used to advise Adam’s company (and who no longer do)

Anyway the upshot of it is that instead of making an expensive trip to London at Christmas, (which in itself wasn’t needed if they had advised us properly before we had even moved to the US) we could have organised the whole thing in Canada and spent one last Christmas with Grandpop. I suppose the lesson from that (if there is one) is that if you have to sort these things out, you cannot rely on getting the right information from a law firm, you have to research it thoroughly yourself. We learned more from the woman standing next to me in the queue at the US Embassy in London than we did from aformentioned crappy law firm. Grrrrr.

Anyway, it’s finally sorted out (big sigh of relief) and we got to spend time with very smally nieces and larger smellier nephews over the last couple of days, arriving back last night, armed with many pencil drawings of monsters with green faces to put on our fridge.
