John Vivian Crowhurst
My very good friend John Vivian lives with his lovely wife Maria in Mexico. He paints this lovely strange stuff. I’m a particular fan of the Alice in Wonderland tarot deck. His work is for sale here. He is available for commissions.
John’s Biography
Born on the eve of D-Day and the Normandy landings. Studied at Coventry College of Art Warwickshire England under Derek Turner (to whom I owe so much.)
I first worked as a graphic designer for the infamous pension-fund-robber, Robert Maxwell designing bookcovers alongside fellow artist Ken Messer who is now famous for his exquisite water colors of Oxfordshire. Then as a copy-writer and cartoonist for Oxford Mail, Times, Star and Journal. I specialized in paintings of English landscape and raptors and exhibited in Royal Academy Summer exhibition.
I emigrated to South Africa. I worked for the Johannesburg Star and specialized in African wildlife. Was separated, divorced and emigrated to Australia. From this trauma came the images and concept of Cognitive-Image-Profiling. It uses image selection to reveal the inner-workings of the mind:- source-trauma, phobias, core-decisions and most importantly the primal-programming.
At the age of 56 I met and married Maria de Leon from Mexico.
We moved to Queretaro in Mexico to re-open her school (music, art and therapy) for mothers and babies. Here we use CIP to discover the source of personal problems. We are able to help couples improve their marriages and identify children with bonding issues. I use art to encourage the child to express his loneliness while Maria helps him re-bond with his parents. Rather than using the traditional rage-reduction-therapy, she uses gentle music and meditation in a very beautiful way to heal the rift between mother and child. These are the same methods she developed to bond pregnant mothers with their unborn babies.
I now paint the living culture of Mexico – freedom, riotous-color, real-women and macho-men. I teach art so that others might realize the joy and value of expression through art. I believe it is all part of my painful and unique journey towards discovering my source of the Divine Essence
