There is a wide swathe of industrial land between Hoboken and my job. It is due to this and the fact that there aren’t any ridable roads that I can only use my bicycle in the most insignificant way for commuting. These pictures a pretty representative of what people think of when they think of New Jersey.

Personally, I quite like this kind of landscape! I’ve always had a bit of a thing for Pylons, girders and the like since I was very small indeed. Makes me think of Kraftwerkian soundscapes and the 70’s but in a kind of cosy way despite the supposedly harsh and stark reality of it.
Can’t you take your bike on the train and use it the other end then?
