Happy Thanksgiving!
I got very confused in the picture book fancy fresh Hoboken grocery store called Sobseys. It has a very good reputation here, and looks like something nostalgic straight out of a Capra movie, with it’s gourds and decorations and warmth of feeling. As I was choosing something for dinner, everyone around me was frantically buying thanksgiving things, huge organic Turkeys, good fruit and veg, Handwritten signs said ‘Pies on order’ and the handmade pies were in little and big boxes on a shelf at the back of the shop, tied with string and with customers names written on them.

In my foreigner confusion where doing simple things in a strange country has you with a short circuited brain, buying all the wrong stuff, I ended up panicking and buying The Turkey AND a chicken like a crazywoman. Don’t ask, I have frozen the chicken now.
It’s Thanksgiving, Harvest Festival, Macy Parade day, North American Extra Christmas day, hoorah hoorah! Adam is off for four days and we are drunk already! Hooby hoobered up happily. I love robots!
Batman is on the TV and Bruce Wayne doesn’t realise that Miss Kitka is Catwoman. Foolish lovestruck lug!
We don’t have our King Size chocolate microsuede beanbag sofa yet so we have put the air mattress in the front room and covered it with furry sheepskin pillows and red tapestry cushions. I am burning a ton of incense and will be cooking The Turkey later.
I am excited about the sofa arriving because by way of ingenious design it contains two king size beds, perfect for when people come and stay. Hoorah!
So much to be thankful for! Robots and beanbags, yay.
It’s very cold and wet outside.
Batman is going to be so darn disappointed when he finds out the truth about Miss Kitka.

I hope you had a nice thankyougiving?
By the way, if you haven’t seen it yet, I would recommend going to see Borat. I am still laughing and I went three weeks ago. Igor and Jonas are obsessed with it, as is Tobi, Bruce and me!

This year my wife decided to have a dry run thanksgiving day to test out her recipes. We soaked the bird in a brine solution she got at William Sonoma it really kept it moist. OMG, the turkey was so good and I get to do it again in a few days!
